The Medical University of Pinar del Rio (Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río) is one of two universities in the city of Pinar del Rio in western Cuba with close collaborative ties to Illinois College.
Founded in 1968 as one of Cuba’s medical training centers recognized by the country’s Ministry of Public Health, the school hosts many students from around the world and will admit its first US students for semester-long study from Illinois College in 2019-20.
Students with enough proficiency in Spanish will be able to take courses that count toward a Biology (pre-med) major.
