Universidad del Sagrado Corazón
This is Illinois College’s exchange program in the Caribbean for study “abroad” within U.S. territory, at one of the oldest and largest educational institutions on the island, dating back to 1880. The University of Sagrado Corazon is located on 32 acres in the heart of San Juan, the capital city of Puerto Rico, a green oasis of learning within the metropolitan area called Santurce. The University offers courses in the areas of Natural Sciences, Nursing, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition, they offer unique courses including multidisciplinary studies approaches and dance. The language of instruction generally is Spanish.
Puerto Rico is a non-incorporated U.S. territory with the current status of a Commonwealth. Its approx.
3.5 million inhabitants are U.S. citizens, and U.S. federal laws apply. The official languages in Puerto Rico
are English and Spanish. U.S. residents need no visa; for international students U.S. visa requirements
apply.
